Go Hard! A guest post by my son, Christian

by Sheila Walsh on 02/23/2010 09:02

Guest post by my son, Christian

Have you ever felt like you are useless in spreading the Word of God? The song “Go Hard” by LeCrae is a touching song that tells us as Christians to stop caring about what other people think and spread the Gospel. This is one of the only songs that I feel actually applies to my life. I feel like God gave me this song to nudge me into spreading His word. The song mixes modern rap with the Bible. The melody is very catchy and the lyrics very deep. LeCrae tells of how he used to be terrified to tell the Gospel because he didn’t want to get made fun of. Then God came into his life and he has become “souled out” for Christ ever since. If you ever feel useless or insignificant, know that it only takes one person to change the world.

Gotta say Christian thanks for the recommendation. I know need to listen to the song and by the CD. I have the term 'Souled Out'. I expect it to inspire me and my kids. Can't wait. So thankful to have a you in the family of God and your passion will inspire others.

I guess it was just that impressive,Sheila, I sure did appreciate it, it was just what I needed to hear from a young perspective. Not a slam to you,Christian, just trying to stay "hip" with the younger generation. My son is 19, and he says I'm "lame and much too open!"Stay focused on the goal, and you'll get there, bud!:)

Hey Christian~

Your Mom & Dad must be very proud of you. What an excellent post. Thanks for sharing your heart with us. We all need reminding that we are to be "souled out" for Christ. Praying always for good things in your life. I can see God has great plans for you. You are one of those "world~changer" dudes:) Take care. Hugs from Ohio

This is a wonderful post. It tells me once again that this young man is multi-talented and tender-hearted...two things I love in a man. And in a friend. Keep up the good work Christian. You're one in a million! Much love from Luci

I can't believe he's only 13!! So elegantly spoken and very mature!! You should be very proud! :) Please thank him for touching all our hearts! :)

Christian,

Thank you for your post. How refreshing that, at 13, you get it! There are many adults who, though they love Christ, haven't been spurred on to spread the Good News. What you've written will encourage many of us, younger and older. I have 2 sons, one 13 like you and the other, 15. I will be sure they read your post-they probably even know who Le Crae is, unlike me. But I will find the song on You Tube. Bless you, Christian, and keep on pressing for Jesus. In Him, Donna Sakabu

We who have had a few more birthdays than you (ok, a lot more) sometimes need to hear a new prospective. Thanks for reminding me that all types of music can speak to the hearts of God's children. I've been a little critical lately of music just because it isn't what I like to hear. I'm recalibrating my tolerance meter after reading your post! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Christian,

I just went to YouTube and listened to this song. I think I'm awake now. I am used to something a little quieter in the morning, something more like Sheila Walsh.(If you haven't heard of her you can check her out on YouTube, maybe the kitchen or even singing in the shower.)But I have to admit that it was a good song and I agree with you,the lyrics are deep. Thanks once again for posting!

PS

Now get out of bed before your momma call in JackB!! :)

Christian,

Thank-you for writing this. Too many of us struggle with that very thing. We hold back or are embarrassed when we should be shouting it from the roof tops. What a wonderful thing it is that you realize it now at a young age. Too many of us don't until we're in our 40, 50's etc...

I can see that your momma is very proud of you (she posted 6X that this is by her son!!! ;)) but even more importantly I have a feeling that God sure is; that He is saying "Well done good and faithful servant. You are my son and I am well pleased."

Christian you have many years ahead of you and I have a feeling that God is going to use you to speak to many....actually I know He is because He just did!!!

Thank-you for guest-writing here. I look forward to reading more of your blog entries.

Marlene

PS

Now I have to go search YouTube for LeCrae 'cause this 42 year old has absolutely NO idea who you are talking about!!! By the way,I think your momma should take you to Starbucks for a special treat this morning!!! Whadda ya think? ;)

Christian, what a great job of reminding us about sharing the Good News! You are so right and I am glad that you are listening to the Holy Spirit speak through lyrics. Keep up the great work! What a blessing you are and a brave heart too!

Sheila, please let Christian know I am praying for him. Praying he would be "souled out" for Christ and would let others see Him through his actions! You have an amazing son!

Christian, thank you for sharing your heart with us! You are an encouragement to each of us to talk about our Savior. I pray you will be a light in your school and amongst your circle of friends.
